"Lyme Disease: Body, Mind and Spirit" is the theme for Ridgefield Lyme Disease Task Force's 8th annual WestConn Lyme Awareness Month Seminar and Health Fair on Tuesday, May 13. Free and open to the public, the educational event will once again be held in the beautiful Westside Student Center ballroom. Speakers include former ILADS president and Lyme disease physician Steven Phillips, MD, former ILADS president, psychiatrist and psycho-pharmacologist Robert Bransfield, MD, and Lyme-literate mental health practitioner Sandy Berenbaum, LCSW, BCD.
Presentations will begin with the group's first "Courage in Journalism award" being given to Poughkeepsie Journal (NY) investigative reporter Mary Beth Pfeiffer for her nationally-recognized landmark series of articles about tick-borne diseases. In addition, Dr. William Lee Cowden of NutraMedix will conduct a free afternoon session from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the same location.
