Long hair. With all of it's abundant beauty, it can be a real pain, especailly in the summer (think: heat, swimming, outdoor activity). Have you ever considered sharing your pretty locks with a child who is suffering from long-term medical issues that cause hair loss? Why not go short (hair) summer?
Local hair salon and spa, adam broderick, will happily cut 10 inches (or more) of your hair in support of the non-profit "Locks of Love" program. Then, one of their talented hair professionals will wash, cut and style your hair at no charge. Your donated hair will enable children under 21 to receive natural looking wigs.
Today, the three girls you see in these photos had 10 inches of their locks cut at ab. Two of the girls are sisters, Newtown residents, Diana and Victoria Kirkman. Collectively, the dynamic duo have donated more than 130 inches to Locks of Love. Their friend, Shannon Ducey of Ridgefield, donated her hair today for the first time.

Locks of Love isn't the only nonprofit that will accept hair donations. Find out about The Pantene Challenge here.
