Platinum recording artist Wynonna Judd brings “Wynonna and Friends: Stories & Song” Tour to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, March 6

Everyone has a story to tell. For Wynonna Judd, those stories have been told through song with one of the most influential and important voices of our generation. On Friday, March 6, at 8 p.m. at The Ridgefield Playhouse, Wynonna will sing the timeless tales of her unparalleled artistry as she takes the audience on the revolutionary journey of her 30-year Platinum career “Wynonna and Friends: Stories & Song” Tour. From “She is His Only Need” and “No One Else on Earth” to “Only Love,” the list of Wynonna hits runs long. With her one-of-a-kind powerhouse voice and engaging storytelling flair, Wynonna and her 3-piece band including her husband, producer and award-winning artist Cactus Moser, will share the inside story of the inspiration behind the hits, the tours and the friends she has made along the way. Special guest is Pete Scobell, a former Navy SEAL and country music newcomer whose first album is Unfinished Business, featuring the reflective title track and moving ballad “For the Ones I Stand Beside,” which can be heard on the soundtrack for the major motion picture, The Hornet’s Nest. The Ancient Mariner (451 Main St., Ridgefield) will pour a free glass of house wine with dinner the night of this show when tickets/stubs are presented. This event is part of the Northeast Builders of Ridgefield, LLC Country Series with media sponsor KICKS 105.5fm.

“The concept for the ‘Stories & Song’ tour has been a dream of mine for many years and will be unlike any tour I’ve ever done before,” explains Wynonna. “My husband and professional partner, Cactus Moser, and I have put this show together and, along with the band [The Big Noise], we all feel a renewed passion and we believe that this music is being celebrated in a whole new way. That gives me a great deal of hope and it is my prayer that others who come to our shows will experience that hope as well.”

As a five-time Grammy winner and New York Times bestselling author, Wynonna built her career on storytelling. She has been working with husband/producer/drummer Cactus Moser on solo material for her eighth studio album, due out this year. The couple also recently released “Follow Me”, an original song exclusively for the film The Hornet’s Nest which features unprecedented real footage to tell the story of an elite group of U.S. troops sent on a dangerous mission deep inside one of Afghanistan’s most hostile valleys.

For tickets ($90), call the box office at 203-438-5795 or order online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a not-for-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
