Emily Kenney Participates in Keene State College Community Service Trip

Water is essential to life, yet more than 2.5 billion people worldwide are affected by the water crisis and poor sanitation. Together with Keene State College's Community Service Department, Wine to Water and Filter pure, Emily Kenney of Ridgefield, majoring in Safety and Occupational Health Science, participated in a community service trip to the Dominican Republic.
On this trip Emily worked to produce and distribute ceramic water filters that are affordable and 99.9% effective for families in need. The team also visited local communities and determined the filters' impact on health and wellness, and where new filters would be most needed.
