Bolshoi Ballet in HD brings classic novel Don Quixote to the BIG screen April 10 at The Ridgefield Playhouse

AAA Northeast at The Playhouse Live in HD Series brings you Don Quixote, captured LIVE from the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow, and projected on to the BIG screen on Sunday, April 10 at 12:55 p.m.

This event, which is partially underwritten by Benchmark at Ridgefield Crossings, is based on Miguel de Cervantes' classic novel, 'Don Quixote' is a Spanish nobleman who reads so many chivalric novels that he goes insane and decides to become a knight. Recruiting the simple farmer Sancho Panza as his squire, he sets out on a series of eccentric adventures to revive chivalry and find his perfect woman. He eventually meets Kitri, an innkeeper's daughter, whom he believes to be his match and decides to woo her.

Set to Leon Minkus' famous score, the Bolshoi's production of 'Don Quixote' is colorful, challenging and features critically acclaimed choreography by Alexei Fadeyechev. The AAA Northeast at The Playhouse: Live in HD Series is underwritten by Jeanne Cook, Anita and Nicholas Donofrio, Liz and Steven Goldstone, Sabina and Walter Slavin, with support from The Ridgefield Press and Whistle Stop Bakery.
