The Revelers Headline in Ballard Park Tomorrow Night

Chirp Concert in Ballard Park on Tuesday, June 7, at 7:00 p.m., listen to the sounds of The Revelers.
This band combines some of the original members of The Red Stick Ramblers and The Pine Leaf Boys, two bands at the forefront of Louisiana’s cultural renaissance. Several years ago they formed a supergroup which combines the Cajun, Blues and Zydeco with Swamp-Pop, a form of music from the Louisiana of the 50s and 60s.
Swamp-Pop has been called Louisiana’s answer to the R&B and Rock n Roll that came out of Memphis and Detroit in the 50s. When that sound reached Southwest Louisiana the musicians traded in their fiddles and accordions for horns and electric guitars that gave their music its own special twist.
Chirp concerts are free. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and a picnic dinner and enjoy the show!
