For the few months, news has quickly spread throughout the town regarding the proposal to change the status of the Sunset Hall property from residential to commercial zoning to accommodate the Mountainside Treatment Center. Sunset Hall, located at 162 Old West Mountain Road, has been on the market for years. With already one location in North Canaan, Mountainside hopes to turn the home into a drug rehabilitation facility. In early November, an application regarding the zoning was sent to the Town.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, January 3, the Town of Ridgefield Planning and Zoning will hold a final Public Hearing beginning at 7:30pm at East Ridge Middle School to discuss, and possibly approve, a new "special permit use" for the Sunset Hall property, allowing a "Extended Residence Care Facility" within RAAA Zone.

(ii) parcel across the street from the 162 Old West Mountain Road parcel, which parcel does not have a street address (Assessor’s ID C12-0016)
(iii) parcel abutting the 162 Old West Mountain Road parcel to the north, which parcel does not have a street address (Assessor’s ID C12-0069)
(iv) 150 Old West Mountain Road (Assessor’s ID C12-0003) all four parcels being in the RAAA Zone. Statutorily Received 11/09/2016.
