Peterson Chiropractic & Wellness has a new name but their commitment to treating patients through natural methods remains the same. The practice, soon to enter their fortieth year, is now known as “Peterson Chiropractic & Acupuncture.” Although Dr. Nicholas Peterson was licensed in acupuncture last year, he said he waited to change the name to be sure it was not just the latest fad.
“It was more like an experiment in the beginning,” he said, “but now we’re seeing that people are willing to come here and trust us to let us try natural methods of treatment that they might not normally consider.”
Dr. Peterson said they use two types of acupuncture to treat all sorts of ailments— from chronic back and neck pain to anxiety and depression to digestive issues and more. Dry needling allows the doctor to treat patients through trigger point therapy while T.C.M., Traditional Chinese Medicine, stays closer to the surface of the skin. By using the dry needle method, Dr. Peterson said he is better able to reach stubborn, stiff and sore muscles that may otherwise prevent adjustments through chiropractic care.
In addition to chiropractic care, massage therapy and acupuncture, Peterson Chiropractic & Acupuncture also offers nutritional supplements and coaching through their partners at Nutri-Metrix.
“We want people to know that our practice is more than just treating back pain and neck pain. It’s no dark secret anymore that natural health and alternative healing methods work. We try to provide a more natural approach to traditional medicine and see the positive impact it makes on our patients,” Dr. Peterson said.
