Ridgefield Academy Gatsby Gala Raises $180,000

Upwards of 200 Ridgefield Academy parents, trustees, faculty and staff decked out in top hats and bowties and flapper dresses accented with feathers and pearls recently filled the Lounsbury House for a roaring good time at the Academy’s 1920’s Gatsby-themed Gala.

The evening, which featured live and silent auctions, a campus landscaping Giving Tree and an upstairs Prohibition Lounge, surpassed expectations by raising over $180,000. In addition to raising funds that support the students and programs of Ridgefield Academy, guests enjoyed champagne, delicious hors d'oeuvres, and were treated to live 1920’s dance performances throughout the night.

Gala Chair Kelly York, who worked tirelessly with a committee of dedicated parents shares “What a wonderful evening! It was fantastic to see so many parents join us for this very special evening to support our school. It provided a great opportunity for our community to get together, have a tremendous amount of fun and give so generously to support the students of Ridgefield Academy.”

Lounsbury House, a Ridgefield landmark since 1896, is considered the place to celebrate life's memorable milestones. Owned by the town of Ridgefield as a non-profit organization with a Board of Directors and small staff, Lounsbury House is committed, in collaboration with the town’s citizens and organizations, to Ridgefield’s Historic Community Center for the use and benefit of all.
