Stonehenge Sign to Go, Golf Performance Center Tees Up for New Chapter

In March, The Golf Performance Center announced plans to purchase the historic Stonehenge Inn and Restaurant, located just off of Route 7 at 35 Stonehenge Road in Ridgefield.

“Stonehenge allows us to create boarding for students and create an academic program for them and also a golf development program,” Golf Performance Center founder Roger Knick told the Ridgefield Press in early March of 2018.

The Golf Performance Center team says they are committed to preserving the character and legacy of the Stonehenge which welcomed guests and won acclaim from 1946 until it closed in 2017.

"Renovations have been underway on the site since January and today our new main campus consists of Ethan Allen Preparatory's two residence halls, classrooms and a dining hall," The Golf Performance Center announced on their Facebook Page today. Ethan Allen Prep is the Golf Performance Center's educational program for student-athletes in grades 9-12.

And, the Stonehenge Inn and Restaurant sign you see here? The Golf Performance Center says it will soon be gone. "We are now the proud owners of this beautiful, historic property that sits just 1/8 of a mile south of our building at 824 Ethan Allen Highway! The new academic year starts Tuesday and we are thrilled to welcome our faculty and staff to their new home!" the Golf Performance Center wrote on Facebook.
