Meet Pat Welton, your Ridgefield neighbor for 40+ years and member of the Ridgefield Chorale

Pat and her husband Bryn married in their early twenties and moved to Ridgefield after they received a job offer from Perkin Elmer that they could not refuse.
Pat raised two children here and worked in the finance department of Mercedes-Benz Credit in Norwalk. During this time, Bryn was diagnosed with MS and Pat took on the role of caregiver.
When Bryn passed away in December 2018, Pat and her family took time to evaluate the available housing options in Ridgefield, focusing on accessible apartments with amenities. She wanted to be relieved of the burdens of home ownership and to stay close to her son, daughter- in-law and beloved grandchildren.
“When I first saw this apartment building being built on 35 Old Quarry Road, I wished I had discovered something like it a few years earlier, for Bryn and me. With the elevator and one-floor living, it would have made life easier as Bryn’s health challenges increased," says Welton.
"While I’m happy to have been able to care for my husband in our home all those years, this beautiful apartment is just right for me now. I have made many lovely new friends in my building and everything is a short drive, including my son’s home," she adds.
It’s clear that as Pat moves into the next chapter of her life in Ridgefield, she has found a nest that makes her happy and keeps her close to loved ones and to the Ridgefield Chorale community that she adores. Watch Pat and her friends sing at the Ridgefield Chorale’s Holiday Pops Performance at the Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, December 15, 2019.
If you attend this festive holiday concert, don’t hesitate to share best wishes with Pat and her beloved Chorale community. In fact, why not wish Pat “good luck” in Welsh - “Pob lwc!” Good luck, indeed!
