Angelina Falotico, 56, of Ridgefield, peacefully passed into new life on Tuesday, March 17, 2020. She was born in Liverpool, New York on November 14, 1963, the fourth of five children born to Salvatore and Marie (Emmi) Mangano.
Angelina attended Syracuse University School of Architecture, where she met Vincent Falotico. The two were married in 1989 and were blessed with twins, Teresa and Anthony, in 1992. They moved to Ridgefield in 1993, where they built a beautiful life together surrounded by a loving community of close friends.
Angelina became the first employee of the architecture firm Gullans & Brooks (now Brooks & Falotico) in New Canaan, Connecticut in 1990. She was a senior project manager, and a leading collaborator in the design of numerous homes in Connecticut and beyond, until 2019.
Angelina was a devoted Catholic and an active member of St. Mary’s Parish in Ridgefield. She was a member of the Disciples for Life retreat team and was also a core member of Catholic Women in Community and Walking with Purpose, two groups that allowed her to share and grow in her faith with other women.
Angelina was a gifted cook and baker and she used those talents to share her love with friends and family. As a young girl, she won blue ribbons at the New York State Fair for her baking. She showed her love by the care she put into the details of every holiday gathering and dinner party and spent the final months of her life pouring her energy into planning her daughter’s wedding. She orchestrated incredible trips for her family, giving them the gift of once-in-a-lifetime experiences all over the world, from watching the Palio horse race in Siena, Italy to driving ATVs through Glen Canyon in Utah. She had an infectious laugh that spread like fire which friends and family loved to spark, and she fully embraced the joy of life.
In 2010, Angelina was diagnosed with breast cancer. She bore her illness for ten years with a grace and strength that came from her faith and the companionship of her devoted family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Vincent; her children, Teresa and Anthony; her brother, Rocco and his wife Roberta; her brother Anthony and his wife Chris; her sister, Rosemary and her husband Al; her mother-in-law, Concetta; her brother-in-law Anthony and his wife, Laura; her childhood friend (honorary sister), Kathy Chiodo; her nieces Maria, Elena, Emily, Julianna, Maria Teresa, Grace, Bella and their families and her nephews Salvatore and Paul and their families, as well as her beloved friends and extended family. She was predeceased by her brother, Michael; her parents, Salvatore and Marie and her father-in-law, Anthony.
Due to the current health situation, a memorial service will be held at a later date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations in Angelina’s honor can be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she received exceptional care for many years.
