Honoring Local Helpers and Local Businesses in Ridgefield: Thank You to Wooster Hollow owner, Ron Herman

Thank you to Ron Herman, the owner of Wooster Hollow Cafe in Ridgefield!

Ron has been nominated by Ken and Elena Spence who explain: When the lockdown hit and many lost their jobs, Ron saw a community need he knew he could fulfill. In addition to curbside pickup for breakfast and lunch, Ron opened his cafe to anyone who needed a meal, free of charge. He has currently served 2,403 meals to those in need. His Cafe also donates meals to Alfa Y Omega Church, Pivot Ministries, Meals on Wheels, Feeding our Heroes, and Ability Beyond. Ron Herman's mission exemplifies compassion in action.

Compassionate Ridgefield has announced a community-wide program to honor our local heroes while supporting our small businesses.

Here's how it works:

  1. Choose a local helper to thank
  2. Make a card or a thank you note
  3. Purchase a gift card to a local shop or restaurant
  4. Using social distancing, present the gift card to the local helper and ask him or her to send you a photo
  5. Email Compassionate Ridgefield the photo
  6. Visit Compassionate Ridgefield Facebook Page to see the many local helpers
