SPHERE Announces Leadership Award Winners

SPHERE is pleased to announce its annual Leadership Award winners. The award winners for 2020 are Frank Bua from Ridgefield High School and Isabella Eckardt from Kennedy Catholic High School in Somers, NY.

Both Frank and Isabella were given a $500 check to help them with post high school education expenses. This award is given to seniors who have shown exemplary leadership among their peers and a commitment to supporting people with disabilities.

We were impressed by Frank's work with special needs children at Mr. Giaimo's Be A Good Sport Sports Camp where his relationships with one of the campers became the highlight of his time there. He also works as an after school counselor at the Wilton YMCA where he helps the special ed paras while he is there. Frank also demonstrated his leaderships skill during his time at RHS in the music department by being a section leader. It is evident that Frank is always willing to lend a hand to those in need.

Isabella has volunteered with SPHERE this school year through the Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance.  She was instrumental in the success of SPHERE's live performance in February - helping with class each Thursday night, from choreographing dances to costume design. From day one, her commitment to SPHERE was evident to all those who worked with her. Her passion for dance and her ability to connect with the members of our Music and Performing Arts Program is definitely worth recognition.

We applaud both Frank and Isabella and wish them the very best in their future. We are certain that they will bring their commitment and leadership to all of the next chapters in their lives!
