Ridgefield Public Schools Unveils Reopening Video Series

Ridgefield Public Schools has released a series of "Reopening Training Videos" to assist families and students as they prepare for the opening of school on Thursday, August 27 for K thorough 9th graders and on Friday, August 28 for 10 through 12 graders (view the complete calendar here).

Please read the important information from RPS school nurses regarding health protocols. Below are some key takeaways:

First off, they have provided an "At-Home Screening Tool" to use each day for your child(ren) to determine whether they should come to school on that particular day.

Illness at School

If your child presents in the school health office with any one of Covid symptoms, you will be contacted to pick up your child from school. For the safety of the other students, we need you to pick up your child within 20 minutes of receiving the call, email or text. We cannot allow your
child to take the bus home due to safety concerns.

Returning to school after illness
To better understand when your child may return to school, please again refer to Addendum 5 of the CSDE Adapt, Advance, Achieve: Connecticut’s Plan to Learn and Grow Together document which gives protocols for various scenarios that may occur. Please note if your child
has been diagnosed with an alternative diagnosis (e.g. Strep, Sinus infection, etc.) please provide documentation from your health care provider and follow our normal communicable disease protocol.

Community Exposure
If your child has been exposed to COVID-19 outside of the school building and needs to quarantine for 14 days we ask that you email your school nurse with this information.

Read the Letter from RPS School Nurses in its entirety.
