Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center live blacksmithing demos this weekend

This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, two events will let you look back in time at Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center (KTM&HC).
As part of this month's #HandsOnHistory: It Takes a Village programming, Alan Horowitz and Ralph Lapidus will demonstrate the art and techniques of blacksmithing. This program will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the lawn across from the Carriage Barn. The program is free and doesn’t require preregistration.
The Carriage Barn will also be open on Saturday and Sunday for #HandsOnHistory: It Takes a
Village. While the tour is free, registration is preferred as we observe pandemic protocols and limit the number of guests in the barn. You can make reservations at our website by following the link in the Calendar. If the barn isn’t at capacity, we may be able to accommodate walk-up guests.
On Friday and Saturday evenings, we invite you to join us on a walk through the past as narrated by the Ghosts of Ridgefield at Timothy Keeler’s Haunt. Tickets are $10 per person. While some tours are full, tickets are still available at our website by following the link in the Calendar at keelertavernmuseum.org/events/calendar/.
Parking for the Ghosts of Ridgefield tours is at the First Congregational Church, 103 Main Street, Ridgefield, CT. Tours begin at the museum’s Visitor Center at 152 Main Street, Ridgefield, CT, across the street from the church. Please be careful when crossing the street.
The 75-minute-long guided outdoor tours will begin promptly; we will be unable to accommodate late arrivals. Restroom facilities will be available only at the start of the tour. Wear appropriate shoes and follow your guide’s flashlight; the grounds can be uneven.
Keeping in mind pandemic protocols, we ask that you remember to wear a mask while visiting the campus and to observe social distancing.
