It's Time to Freeze Your Feet and Move Your Body!
Ridgefield Running Company and Darien Running Company aim to get people moving this winter with two different “streak” challenges. The Hometown Holiday Relay, held December 1-14, challenged participants to move every day for 30 minutes, and raised over $1800 for their “hometown” libraries, Ridgefield Library and Darien Library.
To continue the momentum, the 4th annual Frozen Feet Streak Challenge will kick off Monday, January 4th, 2021. Participants must walk or run at least one mile OUTSIDE every day for six weeks, logging their mileage weekly. Finishers in the challenge will receive an exclusive Frozen Feet tech t-shirt. Over 600 people are expected to register for the 2021 event.
"Daily movement is so important for our physical and mental well-being, now more than ever. We have so many beautiful places to walk or run outside in this area, including our Main Streets and the Norwalk Valley River Trail,” says Ridgefield Running Company and Darien Running Company’s owner, Megan Searfoss. This year, we would like to raise awareness for the Norwalk River Valley Trail, a multi-use path that will eventually go from Danbury to Norwalk.
