The Aldrich and Ridgefield Symphony Team Up this Saturday for Music Inspired by Art - Violist Amy Selig

We are thrilled to continue partnering with Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra in bringing music and art together on our campus. Violist Amy Selig will perform inside The Aldrich galleries delighting visitors with repertoire inspired by Lucia Hierro: Marginal Costs.

Amy Selig has been playing the violin since age eight. She received her B.A. in Music from SUNY Stony Brook, and has been teaching and performing, ever since. Amy fell in love with the viola while in college, and additionally learned the cello. While viola is her favorite, she is passionate about all three of her instruments. Amy is Principal Violist of Orchestra 914, as well as Violist of the Orchestra 914 String Quartet. She is Assistant Principal Violist with the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra. She plays regularly as Assistant Principal Violist, and section Violist with the Norwalk Symphony, Greater Bridgeport Symphony, and Wallingford Symphonies. She is Assistant Principal Violist of the Caspian Monday Music Festival in Vermont, and has performed with the Orchestra of the Longfellow Chorus in various projects, including Charles Kaufmann's documentary, "Samuel Coleridge Taylor and his Music in America." She has performed at Lincoln Center, and in Shenzhen with the Pizzaz Symphony. Amy also performs regularly and professionally as recitalist, soloist, and chamber musician on violin, viola, and cello.
