
Town of Ridgefield Water Pollution Control Authority PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING on April 5, 2022 at 7:00pm, Town Hall Annex Selectman’s Meeting Room
ROUTE 7 PUMP STATION, FORCE MAIN, AND WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY DECOMMISSIONING
The Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA) is working to implement the Wastewater Facilities Upgrade project, a multi-year $55 million project, to comply with more stringent State required effluent limits and to provide reliable wastewater treatment for the town.* Construction of the replacement of the Route 7 Pump Station, located adjacent to 901 Ethan Allen Highway, with a new pump station
* Construction of a new sewer force main from the Route 7 Pump Station to the South Street WWTF in these streets:
* Route 7 (Ethan Allen Highway) from 901 Ethan Allen Highway to Haviland Road
* Haviland Road from Route 7 (Ethan Allen Highway) to Limekiln Road
* Limekiln Road from Haviland Road to Lee Road
* Lee Road from Haviland Road to Farmingville Road
* Farmingville Road from Lee Road to Ligi’s Way
* Ligi’s Way from Farmingville Road to South Street
3. Decommissioning and demolition of the Route 7 WWTF, located behind 901 Ethan Allen Highway
At the meeting, representatives of the WPCA, the engineering consultant, and the construction contractor will provide an overview of the need for and details of the project, provide the anticipated schedule for the work; provide information on temporary traffic impacts during construction, provide details on how to obtain weekly updates on construction, and address questions on the project.
