Just in time for the holidays, Kenny G returns to the Playhouse. A documentary on the legendary Johnny Cash will screen, and the popular From The Notebook To The Stage Singer Songwriter Class is back for a winter session. Emmy-winning and Golden Globe-nominated standup comedian, actress, writer, producer and director, Amy Schumer returns to the road for the first time in four years and makes a tour stop at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 8pm, part of the Barts Tree Service Comedy Series. Often touring theaters and arenas all over the world, Schumer is the only female comic to headline Madison Square Garden. Her show at The Ridgefield Playhouse is a rare opportunity to see her perform in an intimate 500-seat theater.Schumer made a name for herself as a fearless standup, parlaying that into a Comedy Central show – Inside Amy Schumer. From there, she branched out into film, writing and starring in the Judd Apatow-directed Trainwreck in 2015 and several movies since. During the pandemic, Schumer released two seasons of her cooking show, Amy Schumer Learns to Cook, with her husband Chris Fischer who is an award-winning chef on the Food Network in 2020. In July 2020, Schumer’s three-part documentary series, Expecting Amy premiered on HBO Max. The docuseries takes viewers behind-the-scenes as Amy battles through an extraordinarily difficult pregnancy, while documenting the formation of her latest comedy special. Schumer also recently co-hosted the 94th Academy Awards alongside Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall and hosted the podcast, “Amy Schumer Presents: 3 Girls, 1 Keith” alongside Bridget Everett, Rachel Feinstein and Keith Robinson that has run for five seasons on Spotify. The news of her standup tour coincides with the release of a Hulu original series co-starring Schumer and Michael Cera, Life and Beth.
