
Ridgefield resident Sydney Katz takes home Lasell Women's Volleyball Rookie Award
The Lasell Women's Volleyball team had six of their student-athletes take home Great Northeast Athletic Conference awards along with their Head Coach Jeff Vautrin, who earned GNAC Coach of the Year award.
First-year athletes including Ridgefield resident Sydney Katz took home rookie awards.
Third Year Women's Volleyball Head Coach Jeff Vautrin took home the GNAC Coach of the Year award. He led his program to a 19-14 overall record and 10-3 GNAC conference record which gave them the 3rd spot in the GNAC playoffs, winning a playoff match against Elms in the Quarterfinals before falling short against eventual GNAC Champions Johnson & Wales in the semifinals.
McKenna McCool (Loomis, Calif.) earned the first team all-conference honors after she accumulated 310 kills (5th in GNAC), 2.95 kills per set (6th in GNAC), 92 service aces (led GNAC), 0.88 service aces per set (led GNAC). She earned 423.5 points and finished fourth in the conference in that department.
Sophomore Emily Cerasani (Buena Park, Calif.) took home the all-sportsmanship team for the Lasers. She chipped in 194 assists on the year and provided enough positive leadership to help bring the Lasers to the GNAC semifinals.
