Join us at the Ridgefield Library on Sunday, January 22nd at 2:00 pm as we welcome Dmitri Wave Wright, a contemporary painter who embraces an American Impressionist philosophy and uses a brilliant Fauvist-like palette. He teaches classes, conducts workshops and has led tours in the U.S. and abroad.
Wright will give a brief overview of Impressionism as a radical art movement that began in Europe in the late 1880s—and captured light as it defined a moment in time. He will also talk about his artistic technique of which he states: “my brush flows through pigment and is rooted in the collective experience gathered during a lifetime of travels.”
Wright is the Master Artist/Instructor for Weir Farm National Historical Park, the only park in the U.S. dedicated to American Impressionism. Wright’s work is housed in many museum and corporate collections. His artwork is also represented in many private collections throughout the East Coast and Asia.
