Why did you start your business?
My husband and I had been in the corporate world for many years and wanted to own our own business to have the flexibility and use our skills to grow something that was ours.
What is your best-selling product/service?
We bring in high-quality wine at an affordable price from small producers. We strive to give our customers better options than the brand names( which we of course also offer)and they are pleasantly surprised that these wines are wonderful and find themselves buying them regularly. Our craft beer portfolio is one of the best around! The hidden gems are in our walk-in cooler which customers are welcome to explore! We are consistently researching new and unique new liquor items while offering the best-selling brand names at affordable prices. We have been known for years to offer pricing that is the minimum retailers are allowed to sell in Connecticut.

Have you "reimagined" your small business?
During Covid, we were an “essential business” and remained open. We upgraded our website and added an app(villagewine) to allow for the volume we were experiencing for delivery. We now can handle deliveries in a more streamlined process because of our website/app. The app is also a nice addition and customers love the convenience of ordering from their phones. It also made it easier to handle the many curbside pick up we had and still have.
