Ridgefield resident Allison Carballo says that on a whim, she threw her hat in the ring to be deemed a “Super Mom”, a coveted title that comes with $20,000, a trip to Palm Springs, and a two-page feature in Woman's World magazine.

The national Super Mom contest is a win-win. Not only does it give moms across the country an opportunity to share their stories, but it supports Children’s Miracle Network, a nonprofit that helps hospitals across the country provide care for children in need.

Allison says, “Becoming a Mom has been my life's greatest gift. I'm a two-time cancer survivor and I never gave up on my girls.”

This local warrior mom is a contender to WIN and is currently in second place!

The contest includes this short Q&A with Allison.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

We had a girl's day at the shore and all three of us were standing in the waves holding hands. My younger daughter looked up at me and said, "Mommy, I'm having the best time." That memory is where I visit as my "happy place". Going through cancer treatment, I went to this memory all the time to help get me through.

What is one life lesson you teach your kids?

One life lesson to teach my kids is to live life to the fullest. To do what they love and love what they do. And to never give up!

How do you treat yourself after a long day of #momlife?

I curl up on my couch with a cozy blanket and snuggle with my kiddos!
