One of Ridgefield's most beloved doctors of veterinary medicine announces his retirement

After nearly four decades as one of Ridgefield's most beloved doctors of veterinary medicine, Dr. Clifford C. Heidinger has announced he will retire effective July 14, 2023.

The animal doctor who is likened to a pet whisperer, Dr. Heidinger has a way with his furry patients; soft-spoken, gentle, compassionate, and extremely skilled in his field. You might say, magic happens inside the red house at 614 Main Street.

In a letter to the humans who entrust Dr. Heidinger with their pets, he said, “I’ve decided to retire and close Ridgefield Animal Hospital. We hope that we have been successful in our goals of offering excellent animal care.”

Thank you, Dr. Heidinger, for loving and caring for our pets. You will be missed and will be remembered fondly for making Ridgefield a better place.

Enjoy your time as a retiree. You deserve it.
