While the report came out earlier this year, it's worth repeating (especially ahead of Ridgefield's popular Summer Fest planned for July 29) that Ridgefield has been ranked the 2023 Safest City in America by NeighborhoodScout, a nationwide neighborhood search engine and provider of location-based analytics.
They used FBI data and Census Bureau populations to compile this information.
The article states, "In 2023, Franklin, MA was replaced by Ridgefield as the Safest City in America after a two-year run. With only seven violent crimes and 42 property crimes, Ridgefield has an overall crime rate of 1.9 per 1,000 population and is considered safer than 92% of U.S. cities."
