Celebration of Paul Kantner’s 70th birthday bash with Jefferson Starship, David Freiberg and more on Thursday, March 15, at The Ridgefield Playhouse

Paul Kantner’s 70th Birthday All-Star Bash will bring the most complete line-up of the original Jefferson Airplane band to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, March 15, at 8 p.m. Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Kantner was the principal songwriter and leader of this boiling hot band that started rocking in the ‘70s. He will be joined by his Jefferson Airplane band mates along with other luminaries David Freiberg, star of Broadway’s Love, Janis Cathy Richardson, Donny Baldwin, Slick Aguilar, Chris Smith, Nona Hendryx, a tribute to Papa John Creach and special guest Mimi Page. Paul Kantner was the longest running member of Jefferson Airplane (19 years) and known as the brain behind the highly successful band that gave us “Somebody to Love” and “White Rabbit”. This event is part of the Guinness Black Lager Rock Series.
Paul Kantner will perform with a star-studded line-up featuring founding members of Jefferson Airplane and Rock & Roll Hall of Famers from four decades of Jefferson Starship incarnations. Four of Jefferson Starship's albums during the Kantner period have been Certified Platinum or Multi-Platinum with all the other Kantner-led albums Certified Gold. Other hits include "Crown of Creation", "Plastic Fantastic Lover" (featured in the Warren Beatty/Goldie Hawn hit film Shampoo), "Volunteers" (featured live performance in the movie and soundtrack album Woodstock) and "Wooden Ships" (which Paul Kantner co-wrote for Crosby, Stills and Nash but Jefferson Airplane recorded and released first).
