Community Rallies Behind Former Ridgefield Playhouse Employee Lisa Barrett Amid Cancer Battle

Today, GoFundMe organizer Allison Stockel shared a heartfelt update, expressing gratitude to the community for their overwhelming support of her friend and former Ridgefield Playhouse colleague, Lisa Barrett. To date, 212 donations have been received, raising $23,111 towards the $50,000 goal to assist Lisa, a single mom battling Stage 4 cancer.

Allison conveyed her deep thanks: "Thank you all so much for your incredible support and outpouring of love for Lisa. This cancer is ruthless, but she’s staying strong for her son, James." Allison also shared that a trust has been established to manage the donations, allowing Lisa to use the funds for medical bills, daily expenses, and, eventually, to support James as he heads to college.

Lisa Barrett, a cherished community member and former Ridgefield Playhouse employee, is facing immense challenges as she fights cancer while raising her teenage son. After her years at the Playhouse, she worked in the marketing department at Sacred Heart University, but her health now prevents her from continuing her work.

Allison Stockel, former Executive Director of the Playhouse, organized the GoFundMe campaign to ease some of Lisa’s burdens: "While Lisa is not one to ask for help, I will." As a single parent and senior in high school, James is preparing for college, and the support raised will help relieve some of the financial stress for Lisa during her fight.
