Ridgefield's downtown streets are set to come alive with color, creativity, and community spirit as the 11th Annual Art Walk kicks off tomorrow, Friday, August 23. Organized by the Ridgefield Guild of Artists, this highly anticipated event transforms the town into an outdoor strolling art gallery, featuring the works of 40 talented local artists displayed across 32 venues [see below].
The festivities begin Friday evening with an artist Meet & Greet from 5 to 8 PM, providing art lovers the perfect opportunity to mingle with the creators behind the works. With the weather forecast looking “picture” perfect, it promises to be an ideal evening to explore Ridgefield’s vibrant downtown while enjoying the sights and sounds of live music. The Noreen Mola Quartet will set the mood with jazz performances that have delighted audiences at past events like Make Music Day.
The artistic celebration continues on Saturday, August 24, from noon to 4 PM. Stroll down Main Street and discover artists demonstrating their craft outside various storefronts, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into their creative processes. Adding to the festive atmosphere, live performances by singer/songwriter Daniel Madeson and musician Charlotte Roth will keep the energy high throughout the day.
The Art Walk is not just a feast for the eyes but also a significant fundraising event that supports the Ridgefield Guild of Artists. By fostering a greater appreciation for the arts, this event strengthens the community’s cultural fabric and offers an opportunity to purchase original artworks directly from the artists.
Navigating the Art Walk is easy with maps available at information tables located at Town Hall and in front of William Pitt Sotheby’s, as well as inside each participating store.
