Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield honors Tommy Ogden as 2024 BGCR Future Leader

Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield (BGCR) recently honored Club member Tommy Ogden as the 2024 BGCR Future Leader! Tommy, along with 10 other Future Leaders from Boys & Girls Clubs around the state, were recognized at the 2024 Boys & Girls Club of Connecticut’s Future Leaders Dinner at the Boys & Girls Club of Lower Naugatuck Valley.

The Future Leaders were honored for their achievements within their local clubs and communities. Tommy had the opportunity to meet other Club kids from around the state, as well as speak to those in attendance about the impact that our Club has had on him. We were so proud to have Tommy represent our Club!!

In Tommy’s speech, he said: “During my time at BGCR, there have been many role models that have helped guide me toward the path of success. Although I still have a long way to go, the staff at the Club model what it is to be a true leader in the community, and I will continue to follow their example for many years to come. Above all else, the Club is a place where I can feel what I want to feel, do what I want to do, and be who I want to be.”

Tommy was chosen as Ridgefield’s 2024 Future Leader out of a group of 8 incredible Middle School club members. All 8 candidates went through a written application process and were then interviewed by our favorite judges, Mike and Kristin! After much discussion among the judges and a VERY tough decision, Tommy was selected as our Club’s first-ever Future Leader of the Year!

We would like to also shoutout our seven other candidates – Aedan Bradley, Allison Ceccarini, Kate Ford, Lilliana Passantino, Kenzie Polo, Nathan Reynolds, and Thomas Turco - all of whom were deserving of representing BGCR on the state level! We will be honoring all of them at the Youth Leadership Dinner on March 22nd – we hope all of our BGCR family can join us in celebrating all of our young leaders!
