Get to know Danielle Verrilli, the newest member of the Elegant Ridgefield team!

As Elegant Ridgefield, founded by Elizabeth Murray Ellis, prepares to celebrate its one-year anniversary, the boutique is also excited to announce the addition of Danielle Verrilli to its team. Danielle, the former owner of the beloved Bailey Ave boutique Audrey Road, brings her expertise and passion to this new chapter. We had the pleasure of sitting down with Danielle to learn more about her exciting new role at Elegant Ridgefield.
First of all, congratulations on this next chapter in your professional life!
Thank you! Closing AR is bittersweet. I’m so grateful for the time I had to build the business. It was a dream come true- and Ridgefield has been the most supportive community. It started so organically 12 years ago and I feel since the lease was up, it came to a very natural end. I am very ready for my next chapter at Elegant Ridgefield!
Q: Your experience creating one of Ridgefield’s most beloved boutiques speaks volumes. How do you plan to apply your expertise and unique style to your new position at Elegant Ridgefield?
A: I love people and making them feel really special. Working in the retail fashion industry for so long (40 years!) I’ve dressed women of every age group, every body type, and on every budget. Nothing scares me and NOTHING makes me happier than a client leaving with confidence and great new outfits!! I love to really learn about each client, their needs and lifestyle… I have built a following everywhere I’ve ever worked and I hope to continue that at Elegant Ridgefield.
Q: Tell me about your longtime support for Ann’s Place
A: Absolutely! For the past eight years, in collaboration with longtime Ann’s Place supporter, Peggy Marconi, I’ve had the privilege of using my store, Audrey Road, to outfit the models for the annual runway show at Ridgefield Playhouse, all in support of Ann’s Place. What began as a small initiative has grown into their largest fundraiser. This year alone (2024), we raised an incredible $175,000 for Ann’s Place—a nonprofit based in Danbury that offers free comfort, support, and resources to individuals living with cancer and their loved ones.
Q: What drives your passion for fashion?
A: This question runs deep! From a very young age, I remember noticing the fit of clothing. The feel, texture… colors that were so good or not quite right… Every job I had from my first job at the mall on Long Island to Calvin Klein on Madison Ave. I’ve learned and absorbed! I love fashion and I LOVE dressing people.
Q: What excites you most about stepping into your new role at Elegant Ridgefield?
A: I’m so excited to start working at Elegant Ridgefield! When I met Liz and spoke with her I could feel the love she has for her boutique. Being able to dress women for important events in their lives will be such an honor. The selection at ER is amazing and I’m going to be like a kid in a candy shop… if you know me, I’m very enthusiastic when it comes to beautiful clothing! AND, the boutique is gorgeous!
Q: Could you share a bit about yourself, including your life in Ridgefield and your background?
A: Well, first and foremost I’m a proud mom of two amazing daughters! They are the driving force for everything I do. My husband and I moved to Ridgefield 14 years ago and raised them in this beautiful town and now we are empty nesters. I’m originally from Long Island, NY. I love fashion, rescuing animals, and spending time with family.
Q: Can you share a Danielle Verrilli “fun fact”?
A: A fun fact about me is I was on a recent episode of “Say Yes to the Dress”! I can’t believe I’m telling anyone but it seems appropriate now that I’ll be working at Elegant Ridgefield!! Can’t wait to see you all there!!
