Ridgefield resident Megan Searfoss, the founder of CT Run Co., has been named one of “25 Women to Watch in Run Specialty in 2025” by Running Insight Magazine [read the article here]. The magazine’s latest issue recognizes women who are making remarkable strides in an industry where female leadership is already paving the way. Describing these honorees as ambitious, entrepreneurial, and energized, the article highlights their influence on the future of run specialty and their commitment to shaping the industry in the year ahead.

Searfoss’s journey in the running world has been one of determination, vision, and impact. At the close of 2024, she unified her four-store Connecticut-based running store chain, rebranding Ridgefield Running Co. and its sister stores as CT Run Co. The change reflects the brand’s commitment to its mantra, “Constant Forward Motion,” a belief that movement is the key to a healthy, happy life and a clear perspective.

CT Run Co. is not only a retail destination for runners but a community hub, offering training groups and events that inspire individuals of all fitness levels to keep moving. Searfoss and her team, who won Best Running Store in America in 2022, are pushing ahead in 2025 with plans to refine processes and procedures to enhance profitability while aligning the online shopping experience with the in-store experience through thoughtful packaging, personalized notes, and follow-up communication. She is also spearheading The Bridgeport Mile, an initiative aimed at revitalizing racing in the City.

Searfoss’s influence in the running community extends beyond retail. A competitive athlete, she has competed in the Ironman World Championships, the Boston Marathon, nine Ironman distance events, and over twenty marathons. While long-distance racing is her personal passion, she finds the greatest reward in helping non-exercisers train for their first 5K. Her commitment to empowering women through running led her to establish Run Like a Mother in 2008, a brand dedicated to encouraging women at all stages of motherhood to prioritize health and wellness. The national Run Like a Mother 5K race series, held every Mother’s Day, is a testament to her dedication to building a supportive community through movement.

With more than two decades in the healthy lifestyle industry, Searfoss has become a trusted expert, frequently sought after by media outlets for her insights. Her book, See Mom Run—Every Mother’s Guide to Getting Fit and Running Her First 5K, has inspired countless women to lace up their shoes and take that first step. As she continues to lead CT Run Co. into 2025 and beyond, her influence in the running world remains as strong as ever!

Congratulations Megan, we’re with you every step of the way!
