Mindset Monday: What aspects of ourselves remain hidden from our view?

Mindset Monday: What aspects of ourselves remain hidden from our view?

Our friends see the blessings in us that we don’t see. Was there a time when someone encouraged you to push yourself? Last week I bumped into a friend who shared, “We need people to see the things we don’t see in ourselves. I almost didn’t apply for a job because I didn’t believe I could do it.”

The first things that came from her mouth were all the reasons why she didn’t have the skills for the new job opportunity.  Her friend, countered, “You can learn all of those things and more. Plus, you lift others up.”

Her friend shed light on all the gifts. We fear change, adversity, challenge, and choose to believe it won’t work. What if it did work out?

Are you encouraging your friends and cheering them on in the way that they need? My homework and yours is to be that cheerleader for others. Your friend may just need a little encouragement and reassurance that somebody believes in them.  Give them a nudge!
