National Charity League (NCL) Ridgefield Chapter Honors Exceptional Achievements

The National Charity League (NCL) Ridgefield Chapter convened on May 22, 2024, for its highly anticipated yearly award ceremony and closing meeting marking the culmination of the 2023-2024 year. Brimming with joy and gratitude, Patronesses and Ticktockers united to celebrate the profound impact of NCL and its unwavering commitment to nurturing the special bond between mothers and daughters while imparting values of philanthropy, culture, and leadership.
Yenny Reed, Chapter President, extended heartfelt recognition to numerous individuals for their steadfast support and unwavering dedication to NCL. This included acknowledging both current board members and those stepping down after serving commendable two-year terms. Kathryn Mastandrea, the distinguished guest speaker of the evening and Senior Director of Strategic Giving at Connecticut FoodShare, deeply engaged the audience with her profound reflections on the personal significance of NCL to both herself and her mother, delivering her message with heartfelt sincerity. Mrs. Mastandrea, a proud alumna of the NCL Ridgefield Chapter's Class of 2005, shared a legacy with her mother, who once held the position of chapter president.
A highlight of the evening was the spotlight on the chapter's 195 members, whose collective efforts resulted in an impressive tally of over 3,600 leadership hours. From evening planning sessions to fundraising endeavors, training initiatives, and researching new philanthropic ventures, the dedication of NCL members shone brightly throughout the 2023-2024 year. Notably, the chapter welcomed two new philanthropy partners, SOAR Together and CT FoodShare, bringing the total number of philanthropic endeavors to forty-two. A testament to their commitment to giving back, the chapter logged nearly 6,400 philanthropy hours.
The ceremony also featured the presentation of awards to the top Ticktockers with the highest philanthropic hours, with thirty-one Ticktockers receiving the esteemed Presidential Service Award, established by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation in 2003.
No celebration would be complete without honoring and congratulating the Class of 2024, whose collective achievements were showcased in a heartwarming slideshow presentation, capturing the essence of their years of participation in NCL.
