Ridgefield Apartments Makes New Year's Day Special for Meals on Wheels Clients

Meals on Wheels of Ridgefield (MOW) began 2025 in the best possible way—by bringing joy and nourishment to its clients through a special New Year’s Day meal, sponsored by Ridgefield Apartments.

The holiday meal featured pork loin with sauerkraut, collard greens, and black-eyed peas. Each dish carried symbolic significance: pork is said to bring progress and prosperity, greens represent folded money, and black-eyed peas are thought to bring good fortune.

Meals on Wheels expressed heartfelt gratitude on social media saying, “Happy New Year! Thank you to Ridgefield Apartments for sponsoring this delicious holiday meal!”

Since its founding in 1974, MOW has provided essential nourishment to Ridgefield residents who are unable to prepare their own meals. Last year, the organization served 53,000 meals with part-time staff support and over 175 dedicated volunteers.
