Ridgefield Guild of Artists 50th Birthday Celebration

Ridgefield Guild of Artists is 50!!!

2024 marks the Guild’s 50th Anniversary, and in celebration of this momentous milestone, we’re planning a Birthday Party on Saturday, September 14th from 6-9pm. We ask everyone to join in our celebration of us! During our 70’s Pop-Up show (the perfect backdrop), we’ll party like its 1974! Admission is $50 per person for a fun party with food, libations, music and more! Come help us blow out the candles, revel in our first 50 years, and look toward the next!

You may know our story…Ridgefield Guild of Artists was the vision of a small-but-mighty group of artists in town who wanted a place to show, share, and celebrate their work. In 1974, the town offered them the antique goat barn at the bottom of Halpin Lane we still occupy today.

In the beginning, there was brown shag carpeting over the barn floors and peg-board walls to hang up art. Twenty something years ago, a generous member offered to help us spruce up the place. We tore up the brown carpets to discover the very cool barn floors beneath, and put up the white walls you see today when you visit our gallery barn. Today, we are a thriving guild with over 350 members who still love to show, share and celebrate their work.

The Guild has been a nurturing spot for new artists dipping their toes into the world of art, encouraging young and mature artists alike, to come and be a part of our community, to take classes, show their work and network with other artists. Our more experienced artists enjoy taking classes to try something new or hone their skills and exhibiting in a variety of shows throughout the year. Every opening reception is an opportunity for new and old friends to gather, enjoy the show, mingle, and talk about art.
