Ridgefield Police Assist in Pursuit of Suspected Juvenile Abduction

Ridgefield Police report that this afternoon at approximately 5:15 pm Officers responded to the area of Wilton Road West (Route 33) to assist the Wilton Police Department with a pursuit involving a possible abduction of a female juvenile.
According to police, the female juvenile was able to exit the vehicle in the area of Tanglewood Court in Ridgefield, at which time the vehicle continued northbound on Main Street. The suspect vehicle then turned left on Catoonah and collided with another vehicle.
The police report states, "Several juveniles exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers set up a perimeter and utilized the Ridgefield K-9 unit with assistance from the Bridgeport k-9 unit, which resulted in locating four juveniles who were involved (two males and two females). The juveniles were then transported to the Wilton Police Department for further investigation.
Police thank neighboring agencies who assisted as well as the public for their assistance. "Your phone calls helped us locate all of the individuals involved," police say.
Police say there is no danger to the public.
