RPS Students Win Music Competition and Opportunity to Play Carnegie Hall

Justin Kim, a Ridgefield High School (RHS) ninth grader, and Jayden Kim, a sixth grader at East Ridge Middle School, both won first place in the Elite International Music Competition for their solo performances and together won first place for their duet performance.

This is the third time these talented brothers won the opportunity to play at Carnegie Hall for the winners' recital, which took place on Jan 12. Congratulations!

The Elite International Music Competition is an annual event for talented young musicians aged 6 to 22, including pianists, instrumentalists, vocalists, and small chamber ensembles who pass a preliminary audition. Dedicated to advancing classical music worldwide, the competition provides a platform for discovering and nurturing musical talent. Winners of first and second place honors perform at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, other locations, and online. The competition inspires young artists to continue their musical studies, showcase their skills, and reach their full potential.
