The Ridgefield Theater Barn is presenting Clue- based on the screenplay by Jonathan Lynn and written by Sandy Rustin. Bringing to life the characters from the loved children’s game, director David Fritsch said, “The line between reality and cartoon is where we are playing. When cartoons can be believable, it becomes fun.”

Set in the McCarthy era, the story opens with a backdrop of a Senate hearing radio show. Once the lights come up, the audience is treated to an amazing set design that transforms a small space into four very distinct large rooms. The cool part was that when actors moved through the doors, the walls would move to create a new space.

The audience laughed at the “punny” lines and physical comedy. Spend the evening laughing at the antics of the stoic Mrs. White (Ryan Ellen Burbank), the sexy Ms. Scarlet (Isabella Bertram), the arrogant Mr. Plum (Sam Bass), the famous Mrs. Peacock (Kymberly Smith), the clumsy Mr. Green (Matt Regney), and dimwitted Colonel Mustard (David Michael Tate). Supporting this cast of characters is Yvette (Lisa Dahlstrom), Cook (Liz Allen), Mr. Boddy/Motorist/Chief of Police (Sean Latasa), and Policeman (Greg McLaughlin). While all the actors were wonderful, the character of Wadsworth, played by Matt Austin, stood out as the master of ceremonies for both the cast and the audience.

If you loved the game, you could not help but love the show.  The show will run from Feb. 2-24. Unfortunately, the run has been completely sold out. But call for cancellations. Check out the other shows at Ridgefield Theater Barn at https://ridgefieldtheaterbarn.org

Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, Clue is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery. The tale begins at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects. Led by Wadsworth–the butler, Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock and Colonel Mustard race to find the killer as the body count stacks up. Clue is the comedy whodunit that will leave both cult-fans and newcomers in stitches as they try to figure out…WHO did it, WHERE, and with WHAT!” –Dramatists Play Service
