Why are Ridgefield trees on Halpin Lane wearing pink skirts?

Have you seen the whimsical trees at the end of Halpin Lane?

The “Tree Skirts” are the creative handiwork of Bethel-based artist, Elizabeth White and are part of the Ridgefield Guild of Artists “Art in the Garden” Member Themed Show.

Elizabeth White states on her website, “The series Tree Skirts was conceived after reflecting upon scientific discoveries about the dynamics of tree communities. Much has been revealed as to how trees play an integral part in holding our planet together.”

On view May 18th to June 16th, 2024, The Guild partnered with Ridgefield Garden Club to present this colorful garden-themed exhibit.
