Meet Victoria Baird, founder of Baird Design Co.

Why did you start your business?

I have always loved designing homes.  From a young age, I was constantly trying to convince my mom to redesign rooms in our home and I would sketch over floor plans that I would tear out of local magazines.  After over a decade in the design industry, working for interiors, architecture, and construction firms, I came back to these initial interests.  I started Baird Design Co. so that I could design homes that my clients have always dreamed of - homes that not only function for their daily needs, but are full of warm and inviting spaces. 

How many local businesses do you use to support your business and can you name them?

We are fortunate to have access to so many amazing home design and decor resources in Ridgefield!  I rely on these local businesses to help turn my visions into realities.   For recent design projects, I have used both Creative Tile and Venezia Marble.  I also love sourcing unique furniture and decor finds from our local consignment stores, Silver Linings, and Bluebird Estate Sales.

What is your best-selling product/service?

Right now, with the cost of construction  being relatively high, I'm seeing that some people are feeling priced out of larger architectural projects, like an addition on their home.  I can help them pivot to re-envision and revitalize the existing square footage of their home to make it work for their needs.  I help owners phase and sequence their planned renovations in a way that fits their budget and goals.  A popular service I offer is a single-room  redesign/refresh, as it's manageable in size and allows homeowners to tackle their renovation goals bit by bit.
