Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

Meet Catherine Oni author of If Her Love Was Enough

Author statement:

Hi. I’m Catherine Oni (aka Kitty). I write. I write for the unheard souls, the lonely souls, the underdog souls, the unsure souls, the battered souls. I write for me and I write for you. I want you to find comfort in my words and characters, and to know that you’re not alone. No matter your past, present or future, you are enough.

Why did you become an author?

I switched over from being a High School English Teacher to an author to focus on my children as well as to give a voice to those who feel unheard, unloved, undervalued, and misrepresented.

What are you currently working on?

As of right now, I’m focused on selling my debut novel, If Her Love Was Enough.

Do you use any local businesses to support your business?

I currently use Queen Bee and Books on the Common to sell my book. I would like to venture out into other small retail businesses as well.

What is your mission as an author?

I’m slowly building my brand into becoming an empowered woman to help women and the disenfranchised find their voice and heal whatever they need to let go of.
