The pelo by edgardo Salon is partnering with the Center for Empowerment and Education to provide a professional training to hair salons with the objective of equipping hair stylists and salon employees with the knowledge of how to identify domestic violence and make a trauma-informed referral when necessary. The training covers the dynamics of domestic violence, red flags of abuse, a basic understanding of trauma, and how to make trauma-informed responses to disclosures of abuse. CEE is the sole provider of services to victims of domestic and sexual violence in Northern Fairfield and Southern Litchfield Counties that provides state-approved domestic violence and sexual assault resources and services as a member of both the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the Connecticut Alliance to End Sexual Violence.
This 90-minute Complimentary class is being hosted by the pelo by edgardo hair salon located at 16 Bailey Ave. Ridgefield, CT 06877. Refreshments are always provided.
