Virtual Webinar Series: Smart phones, computers, tablets, Zoom sessions and the endless list of tech encounters can be exhausting to anyone who is not familiar with these modern day necessities. A group of Somers High School students, in conjunction with Somers Library, have decided to help Somers senior citizens as part of their community service project. Webinars will be conducted to address the common tech problems. Participants can also write in to ask any tech related questions to the Tech Teens. Please register for each session!!!
- Tech Support for Seniors Citizens: Everything You Need to Know About Zoom. Saturday, 1/9, 10:30 - 11:30 am. Our short webinar on everything about Zoom will explore how to start a Zoom session, learn the features on Zoom, how to avoid some common (or embarrassing) mistakes people make during a Zoom session and some safety tips. We will explore everything you need to know to make your Zoom experience a pleasant one. It's that easy! There will be a Q&A to answer any questions regarding this topic at the end of the session.
- Tech Support for Seniors Citizens: Knowing Your Smartphone, Part 1: The Camera Functions. Saturday, 1/23, 10:30 - 11:30 am. The smartphone is a great tool, but sometimes we don't make full use of it and get frustrated. Most smartphones now are very user friendly and you can't go wrong with it. Join our webinar on knowing your Smartphone features work and how it can help us in our daily lives. In Part 1 of this webinar, we will explore some common useful features of the camera on your phone:
- You can take some really good pictures and videos with your smartphones without having to carry around a camera. This makes it easier to send pictures to friends and family without having to download it to your computer!
- Knowing the easy picture/video editing features
- How to text a picture/video to send it to someone
- How to organize/move your pictures and videos into albums in the phone
There will be a Q&A to answer any questions regarding this topic at the end of the session. The webinars will be conducted by 3 tech savvy Somers High School Sophomores, Jay Wilkinson, Sean Kim and Nicholas Maurantonio. Look for more webinars offered in February, 2021!
