Artist of the Month - Nina Bertolino

Thursday, May 4th 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM.

Nina Bertolino has been drawing and painting since she was very young. She won many awards dating back to her high school days. Searned her BA from Sarah Lawrence College, where she took many classes in painting, drawing and printmaking (which lead to her first job out of college printing serigraphs for some well known artists, such as Frank Stella, James Rosenquist, Richard Haas, Roy Lichtenstein…..). Nina studied for her Masters in Art Education at The College of New Rochelle.

Her work ranges from abstract to impressionist. She paints in oils, acrylics, gouache, pastel and watercolor, as well as collage. Due to many trips to museums as a child with her family, she was exposed to a lot of different art styles growing up. Matisse was one of her first inspirations and his use of color and composition still inspire Nina to this day. Nina often sees colors where others only see one, which is a useful tool when teaching (she has taught classes in acrylics, pastels and watercolors).

She’s titled this show, “Seasons” as a mark in time when our “seasons” sometimes all seemingly run together like watercolors as they have done in 2023! She will be displaying paintings from her wor
