Emmy award-winner Brad Garrett brings no-holds barred comedy to The Ridgefield Playhouse

Best known for his TV role as Ray Romano’s brother in “Everybody Loves Raymond,” comedian Brad Garrett earned three Emmy awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series as well as five nominations. He will perform his no-holds barred comedy act, “offending America one city at a time,” at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, May 17, at 8 p.m. This performance contains adult themed R-rated material and is not suited for minors or more sensitive adults. Featured guest is Comedy Central star Bonnie McFarlane whose HBO special is currently airing.

In addition to being an actor and comedian, Brad Garrett is a voice actor who represented the voice of Hulk Hogan for the cartoon series Hulk Hogan’s Rock ‘n Wrestling and lent his distinctive deep voice to several other animations including Mighty Ducks: The Animated Series, A Bug’s Life and Finding Nemo. It was nearly two decades ago that he got his start when he became the first $100,000 grand champion winner in the comedy category of the TV show Star Search, which led to his first appearance at the age of 23 on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. He went on to open for headliners such as Diana Ross, Liza Minnelli, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr. and Julio Iglesias.

Before winning the role of Ray Romano’s brother on “Everybody Loves Raymond,” he made television appearances on network comedy and game shows including Password, Rosanne and Seinfeld. He was on Broadway with Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick playing Murray the Cop in a 2005 revival of The Odd Couple.
