You Mad About the Heat? Chill Out at Froyo World

It’s no secret: we eat a lot. If you’re a reader, you know this is true. If you’re not a reader, well damn, you should be! But trust this, we do our fair share of healthy eating too. The Food Dudes were thrilled when this whole frozen yogurt movement took hold of Fairfield County because we need a healthy dessert option once in a while. We were happy when Top This! opened in Westport since it’s close to home, but everywhere you go there is a Pinkberry, a Swizzles, or another froyo parlor popping up. Now there’s a new kid on the block…Froyo World!

Located at 361 Post Rd. W. in Westport is Froyo World with their 10 rotating flavors and up to 45 toppings! We, at Food Dudes, like variety, and this place has it. We sampled a bunch of flavors including vanilla bean, Dutch chocolate, cookies ‘n crème, cake batter, and raspberry tart. Personally, I like all frozen yogurt, I don’t care what flavor they want to throw up there. My favorites at Froyo World were vanilla, chocolate, and the cake batter. While I’ve tried cake batter froyo at many places, Froyo World’s was the best. It reminded me of eating the prepared yellow cake batter out of the bowl as a kid, only frozen! Yeah, yeah, I know you’re not supposed to do that.  

Now, I’m not a toppings guy all the time. I like to keep my froyo as is, but the array of toppings at Froyo World will have me stopping by for a healthy snack with fresh fruit toppings. Especially since I teach martial arts classes about a quarter mile down the road from it. Other toppings at Froyo World include, and are not limited to, sprinkles, sweet sauces, chocolate and gummy candies, cookie crumbles, and even some classic cereals like Fruity Pebbles and Captain Crunch! And it's all self-serve so load it up as much or as little as you'd like. The possibilities are endless, and limitations are bad. Thank you Froyo World for frozen yogurt freedom!

Besides being a cold, tasty treat, froyo is healthy! Most flavors at Froyo World are non-fat with other being low-fat and some being non-dairy so there is something for everyone. And if you didn’t know, yogurt is loaded with good vitamins like calcium, protein, and vitamin B6 and B12, it promotes weight loss and can be tolerated by some lactose-intolerant folks.

An easier way to say all this, froyo rocks, give it a shot!
