On a day when it feels like it can't get any colder, our thoughts naturally turn to the coldest place on earth. Which is the North Pole, right?
Wrong.
Contrary to - or perhaps we should say in polarity to - popular belief, the North Pole is not the coldest spot on the planet.
The South Pole is.
The North Pole also has seasons, a variety of animal life, and even hot springs.
If you want to run in the North Pole Marathon, be my guest. You won't see me there. The thought of running there leaves me, well, kind of cold.
