Kristen Cusato, Alzheimer's Advocate, Coming to Barnes & Noble

Kristen Cusato, contributor in the newly released book Chicken Soup for the Soul: Living with Alzheimer's and Other Dementias, will be doing a book signing at the Barnes and Noble 1076 Post Rd E, Westport, CT 06880 on Wednesday June 25th 2014 from 5:30p.m. To 7:00p.m.
Kristen, a valiant advocate for the Alzheimer's Association, began working with the Alzheimer's Association Connecticut Chapter as a trainer, educator, and fundraiser. While attending an Alzheimer's Association awareness event, Kristen met publisher, Amy Newmark, of the Chicken Soup for the Soul book series and it was then that the idea for a book about Alzheimer's was created.
The book, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Living with Alzheimer's and Other Dementias, is a joint venture between Chicken Soup for the Soul and Alzheimer's Association. The book was released April 22nd and all royalties from the book to the Alzheimer's Association. The book is comprised of 101 personal stories intended to guide, support, and encourage caregivers and those living with Alzheimer's through the many phases of one's experience with Alzheimer's.
Kristen shares her own story titled, "The ABC's of Alzheimer's and Dementia for Caregivers" in the book. Additionally, she writes a blog and volunteers for the Alzheimer's Association San Diego Imperial Chapter where she currently resides. Her goal, she says, is "to use my public speaking skills, knowledge as a caregiver and dementia educator to spread the word. You don't have to go through this alone."
