Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Red Barn Advisory!

Four questions with John Egan, founder of Red Barn Advisory.

Why did you start your business?

Red Barn Advisory was launched in response to losing friends due to the pandemic on April 15, 2020. One day later, I was asked to help a Healthcare Family Office by flexing my global network to create a demand profile for an antibody test. Red Barn Advisory started with one mission: get people back to work, so we can open the global economy.

We continue to be guided by COVID Response Teams globally as they develop new operational workflows coming out of the pandemic.

What is your best-selling product/service?

Tools to combat the two main forms of transmission: air and surface. Both our devices were developed over the past four years to combat the increasing occurrence of secondary infections in the healthcare system. With the onset of the pandemic, there is a new understanding of the importance of clean air and surfaces to reduce exposure to pathogens.

Aura Air purifier. This 4-level “capture and kill” air purifier hangs on the wall, ceiling, or shelf and simply plugs into a 2 pronged outlet. The device was developed by an Israeli technology company over the past 4 years. Production commenced last September, and the device has been independently tested to reduce >99% of Coronavirus, the variants, and other pathogens in the air while providing real-time monitoring of AQI (Air Quality Indec), temperature, humidity, VOC, PM 2.5 ( Particulate Matter 2.5 microns such as viruses), PM 10, CO (Carbon Monoxide), and CO2 ( Carbon Dioxide).

NuvaWave. This is the only handheld terminal UVC device that has been independently tested to kill SARS-CoV-2 in under 2 seconds. This was developed by a group of North Carolina-based healthcare executives with over 200 US patents in medical devices and light-based technologies.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

Currently, we work with local businesses and municipalities who purchase our devices to reduce staff and customer's exposure to SARS-CoV-2 and other pathogens, so they can return with confidence to their facilities.

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

We are constantly assessing what is the optimal form of the business as we are guided by our end users.
